Published list prices for widely used business software

SaaS pricing history, made clear

We read the published price pages of widely used business software every day and keep a permanent record of every change, so a renewal quote can be checked against what the vendor was charging a year ago. When a renewal quote arrives, the question is whether the price actually moved — and by how much, and when. That is what this page is for.

Checking a renewal quote

What the archive can tell you that the quote cannot

Did the list price move?

Every published change is dated below. A quote that rose while the list price held is a quote about your account, not about the product.

Is annual worth it?

The saving for paying yearly is in the table, per plan, from the vendor's own two published prices.

Will it move again?

Track a plan and the change arrives by email on the day it is published — months before a renewal, which is when the leverage exists.

These are published list prices. What you actually pay is negotiated and private, so a quote can differ — the list price is the part that is comparable between customers and over time.

Team size

lowest list priceThe smallest published number in a view, before any quantity is applied. One vendor’s advertised figure, compared with another’s. It says nothing about how many of them you need, so a flat team pack will often hold this label while costing more than a per-seat plan for any real team. All terms →

Datadog Infrastructure Pro

The smallest published number in this view, before any seat count. One person’s price, not a team’s.

lowest estimated costThe smallest monthly total once the quantity you entered has been applied — and only over the options that quantity can legitimately be applied to.This is the label that answers "what should we buy", and it routinely disagrees with lowest list price. Neither is a recommendation: this archive records prices and holds no feature data, so it cannot tell you whether the lower-priced option does the job.All terms →

Datadog Infrastructure Pro

25 seats on monthly billing, over the plans whose unit can be multiplied by a headcount.

2 plans in view. These are list prices: what you pay is negotiated, and a plan with a seat minimum or an onboarding fee will cost more than the arithmetic here.

Annual saving is the discount for paying yearly, from the vendor's two published rates on the same plan. A dash means only one of the two is published. Est. / month is that rate multiplied by the team size above, and only where the vendor's unit is a person — a flat team pack and a metered plan are marked rather than multiplied.

Neither figure is a recommendation. This archive records what vendors publish; it holds no feature data, so it cannot tell you whether the lower-priced plan does the job. What is not compared here

What these prices do not tell you

The archive records what vendors publish, which is a price and not a product. Four things a real purchase turns on are absent, and the comparison says so rather than ranking as though they were free.

  • Feature availability. SSO, audit logs, API access and admin controls gate the plan a buyer can actually use. No vendor publishes them in a machine-readable form and the archive records none, so no plan here is filtered on them.
  • Included usage and overage. Credits, storage, automation runs and their overage rates are not collected, so a plan that becomes expensive at scale looks identical here to one that does not.
  • Minimum seats and onboarding fees. Some plans carry a seat floor or a one-off implementation charge. Neither is recorded, so an estimate at 1 seat may be below anything the vendor will actually sell.
  • Quote-only tiers. A tier the vendor quotes on request has no published list price and is absent entirely rather than shown at zero. The cheapest listed plan is not always the cheapest plan.

Vendor scorecards

How often each vendor raises a published price, and by how much

Nothing has been recorded yet. A scorecard is an average over observed changes, so it appears once the archive has some.
