What this is
Cost Ticker publishes a record of list prices collected from cloud and AI vendors' public pricing APIs, and sends email alerts when tracked prices change. It is operated by Finitizer.
Accuracy, and its limits
We take the accuracy of this archive seriously — it is the entire product. But the data is collected automatically from third-party APIs and is provided as is. Vendors change SKU identifiers, restructure catalogues, and occasionally publish errors of their own.
Do not make a purchasing, contractual or financial commitment on the basis of a number on this site without verifying it against the vendor. List prices are not your prices: committed-use discounts, enterprise agreements, private pricing and marketplace credits all change what you actually pay. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it.
Using the data
Prices are factual data collected from public sources, and facts are not copyrightable. You may use, quote and republish this data. Cite Cost Ticker with a link — that is the entire licence, and it is how the archive earns its keep.
The feeds and read endpoints are free. Please be reasonable with them: cache responses, do not poll faster than the data changes (once a day), and identify your client with a user agent that has a contact address in it. Sustained abuse gets rate-limited; a note to us first gets you a higher limit instead.
Your account
Register with an address you control. You are responsible for the security of your inbox, since sign-in links go there. Do not use the service to send email to addresses you do not control, and do not try to break, overload or circumvent the rate limits.
We may suspend an account that is being used abusively. We will tell you why.
Availability
There is no uptime guarantee on the free tier, and no guarantee that any particular alert will arrive — email delivery involves several parties, none of them under our control. Treat alerts as useful, not as a control in a process that must not fail.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Finitizer is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this service, and total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months. On the free tier that is zero, which we would rather state plainly than bury.
Trademarks
Google Cloud, AWS and Azure are trademarks of their respective owners. Cost Ticker is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. Vendor names are used descriptively, to identify whose prices are being reported.
Changes
These terms may change. Material changes are emailed to registered subscribers before taking effect, and the date at the top always reflects the current version.
